I am a native of Walterboro, SC.  I was educated in the public schools of Colleton County.  I am a 1987 graduate of the former Walterboro High School which is now Colleton County High School and am also a former flute player in the Walterboro High School [now Colleton County High School] Marching Band of Blue! 

I have earned the following degrees:  Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education (1991) from The College of Charleston, Charleston, SC; Master of Education Degree in Elementary School Adminstration (1998) and Specialist in Education Degree in Educational Leadership-Superintendency (2000) from The Citadel, Charleston, SC; and Doctor of Education Degree (2013) from South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC. 

The 2019-2020 school year marks my 28th year as a public school educator.  Prior to joining the Darlington County School District, I taught fourth and fifth grades in Walterboro, SC for 8.5 years.  I served as assistant principal of St. John's Elementary from 2000 - 2016.  I served as interim principal of St. John's Elementary in school year 2016-2017 and then became principal of SJE in school year 2017-2018.  I will be retiring at the end of this current school year, 2019-2020.

I currently reside in Florence, SC.  My hobbies include playing the piano, traveling I-95 South to visit my family, experimenting with cooking new recipes, and doing educational research.
